dark money 2

YOU ARE INVITED to the new film “Dark Money” and learn what we can do about Big Money in the political election process!

Dark Money”  is a political thriller that examines the greatest present threat to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate money on our elections and elected officials. The film takes viewers to Montana—a frontline in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide—to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impacts of the U.S. Supreme Court’s, Citizens United decision. Through this gripping story, “Dark Money” uncovers the shocking and vital truth of how American elections are bought and sold. Many people who study the Citizens United decision and its aftermath know that the disproportionate influence of money on elections isn’t a Democratic or Republican problem, but the fundamental problem to every other issue you might care about — Monsanto pays millions to convince the public that glyphosate is safe in our food, as Shell pays off politicians to quell knowledge of its plundering practices for oil around the globe.

Members of Move to Amend Nevada County will provide a short presentation and field questions from the audience to discuss what We The People can do about these problems.  Free beverages and organic popcorn.
