Creating Communities Beyond Bias

ccbbCreating Communities Beyond Bias formed in 2011 in response to a racist incident in our community. Over the past six years we have served on a number of panels related to prejudice, advised school administrators and student groups concerned about social justice issues, and conducted numerous workshops and presentations for middle school, high school, and college students in our area of northern California. Our main interest is in doing workshops for high school and college students. Workshop exercises and group sharing help students develop tools to overcome their own prejudices and help others unlearn prejudice. In 2016, we created our first Unity Summit, bringing together representatives of different segments of our county to look at ways we can create more unity and less prejudice in our community.

Our vision: An empowered community that supports and honors diversity.
