Music

New Peace Choir of Nevada County

The Nevada City Peace Choir is a community-driven ensemble dedicated to promoting peace, justice, and unity through the transformative power of music. As part of the Peace and Justice Center of Nevada County, the choir actively participates in events like “Give Peace a Song,” where they perform alongside local musicians and poets to inspire collective action and reflection on social issues.

This inclusive, non-auditioned choir welcomes singers of all backgrounds and skill levels. Their repertoire spans secular songs of hope and justice, often featuring multilingual and multicultural selections that reflect the diverse voices of their community. The choir’s performances are typically held in accessible venues such as Seaman’s Lodge in Pioneer Park and Wild Eye Pub in Grass Valley, with events often accompanied by guest speakers and community organizations.

Through their music, the Nevada City Peace Choir fosters a sense of solidarity and shared purpose, inviting audiences and participants alike to engage in meaningful dialogue and action for a more peaceful world.
