Slide show and talk by Skip Schiel. Schiel describes himself as a “socially engaged participatory photographer.” His work has included environmental desecration, racism and racial injustice, South Africa, poverty, American Indians, the U.S. South, and resistance to oppressive regimes worldwide.
Whether one’s interest is the art of photography, social activism, environmental crises, or the realities of contemporary life in Palestine-Israel, Skip Schiel’s photographic narrative captivates the viewer’s attention, telling the story of the Jordan River as it flows amply in the Upper Jordan, is threatened in the Galilean Sea, has shrunk to mostly wastewater in the Lower Jordan, and finishes with the rapidly dying Dead Sea.
Donations welcome. Light refreshments will be available. Sponsored by Palestine-Israel Working Group and Church & Society Committee of NCUMC. Call 478-1943 for more information.
