DSA Special Meeting for Sierra Foothills Chapter

This isn’t a standard chapter meeting. We’re setting aside the usual agenda to step back and talk together about where CSF DSA is headed — what we want this chapter to be over the next year, how we make officer roles sustainable, and what leadership looks like going into our July/August elections. As we’ve shared before, both of us are likely stepping down as co-chairs, so this conversation belongs to the whole chapter.

To make the most of our time together, here are a few questions we’d ask everyone to sit with beforehand:

• What should CSF DSA’s purpose be over the next year? Are we primarily an electoral chapter, a campaign chapter, a political home, a training ground for organizers — or some mix? What would we regret not doing?
• What does the chapter do that only the chapter can do? Across four counties, what’s the work that wouldn’t happen without us?
• What brought you in, and what’s kept you here? Especially if you’re newer — your answer tells us a lot about what we should protect and build on.
• What would make you say yes to taking on more? If stepping into an officer role or working group lead feels out of reach, what would have to change for it to feel doable?
• What should we stop doing? Sustainability means choosing. What’s worth letting go of so the rest can thrive?

You don’t need answers — just bring your honest thinking. Newer members especially: your sense of what you want this chapter to be is exactly what we need in the room.
