THE DEVIL WE KNOW (2018)

‎The Devil We Know (2018) directed by Stephanie Soechtig • Reviews, film + cast • LetterboxdCitizens in West Virginia battle a powerful corporation after learning that it has consciously been dumping a toxic chemical into the local water supply. Their investigation unearths that this chemical is actually found in the blood of 99.7% Americans.  Produced by Stephanie Soechtig, the documentary exposes the decades-long efforts by the DuPont corporation to deny the adverse effects of chemicals used in the manufacture of Teflon kitchenware, which they knew about at least as early as 1982. They’re still denying them, even as birth defects and other problems have increasingly surfaced among factory workers and nearby residents whose water has become polluted with industrial waste.  Learn about the effects of using Teflon and other common household products on our health.
